HISTORY OF THE CHURCH OF GOD, HONDURAS
Beginnings
The Church of God had its beginnings on the Island of Roatan in the suburb of Second Run. Pioneering were Phillip E. Allen Sr. and his wife Marjorie with their eleven children.
In 1974 the family began to meet under a tree in the open air; that is how the church was for three years until they had a contact with the Church of God headquarters at Anderson, Indiana, U.S.A. who in the future would give them the support and shelter they needed. The contact with North American brothers was through Project Partners a group affiliated with the Church of God who works in Central America.
Development
After a few years on the Island of Roatan under the Leadership of Phillip Allen Sr., the vision grew and extended to the mainland in La Ceiba. Phillip Allen Jr. came to La Ceiba, an important port city of Honduras, in 1985 and rented a house that served as both church and home for him and his family. The Lord quickly added people to the church/house. In 1986 they purchased the house that serves as our current sanctuary.
In 1987 Pastor Phillip Allen Jr. gained support in the ministry because his brother Donny returned from México where he was being prepared for the ministry at La Buena Tierra Institute. After five years (1985-1990) of hard work in the Lords vineyard, Pastor Phillip Jr. felt that he had completed his cycle of work here and he left, leaving Pastor Donny as his successor.
Growth
Due to the growth, in 1991 we expanded the building by joining the church with the pastoral house. The church had grown from 25-30 to 175-200 people! Also, the church wasn't limited to the La Ceiba location only; our extension went to Santa Cruz de Yojoa (the only Lake in Honduras), Villas del Carmen, and El Pino. All of the pastors and leaders in the upstart churches have been members of the central church in La Ceiba and received their training at our Bible Institute of the church here in La Ceiba.

Historia de la Iglesia de Dios Hermandad Cristiana en Honduras
Comienzo
Comienza en Roatan, Islas de la bahía en el barrio llamado Second Run. Los pioneros fueron Phillip E. Allen y su esposa Marjorie con sus once hijos.
En el año de 1974 la familia comenzó a reunirse al aire libre debajo de un árbol.
Así estuvo la Iglesia por tres años hasta que tuvieron contacto con la iglesia de Dios con sede en Anderson Indiana U.S.A. que en el futuro le daría la cobertura y apoyo. El contacto con los hermanos Norteamericanos fue por medio de Project Partners un grupo afiliado a la Iglesia de Dios que trabajaba en Centro América.
Desarrollo
Después de varios años en Roatan bajo el liderazgo de Philip Allen padre, nació la visión de extenderse hacia tierra firme. Philip Allen hijo llego a la Ceiba [puerto importante de Honduras] en el año 1985 y alquilo una casa que le sirvió de vivienda e iglesia. El Señor muy rápidamente comenzó a añadir varias personas a Su Iglesia en casa. Ya para 1986 se pudo comprar una casa que posteriormente se convirtió en el templo actual.
En el año 87 el Pastor Philip Allen hijo tuvo mas de apoyo en el ministerio porque regreso su hermano de México donde estaba preparando para el ministerio en el Instituto La Buena Tierra. Después de cinco años [1985-1990] de arduo trabajo en la obra el Pastor Philip sintió que había cumplido su ciclo quedando en la dirección su hermano Donny Allen.
Extensión
En 1991 debido al crecimiento se amplio el espacio uniendo la casa pastoral con la iglesia. La capacidad subió de 25-30 a 175-200 personas. La Iglesia no se quedo en Ceiba, también se comenzó obras en Santa Cruz de Yojoa, Villas del Carmen y El Pino.
Todos los Pastores y líderes han sido miembros de la iglesia central de La Ceiba y alumnos del programa de Estudio Bíblico de la iglesia.
